Initially mainly a new business development role utilising the company’s existing database and also your own lead generation / research and market knowledge. Loads to go at and a real chance to make a name for yourself. You will keep any accounts you open to develop. There are potentially long lead times for larger project based sales, so some of your activity will be targeting quicker wins with customers by selling them spares, repairs or redesign and smaller, lower value items possibly replacing a few racks or shelves or containers. Other good ways in to customers are selling rack inspections and then supplying products on the back of their recommendations; also from inquiries and sales contacts from the company’s very successful online catalogue. You will run your territory as your own business and reap the financial rewards with success your in the role.

Preferably but not essentially, you will have a proven track record of success selling industrial storage and handling/racking and shelving or some other related equipment or product into the industrial warehouse or logistics market. The client will definitely consider driven, ambitious, and enthusiastic candidates from other (preferably industrial, engineering or technical) sales environments. They will consider candidates in their first or second field or internal sales roles who are ready for the next step up into the role. You will need to be a new business generator, driven by results, who is not afraid to sell to new customers. Any experience in drawing, space planning or general spatial awareness as part of your previous roles would be advantageous. You will be numerate, literate and organised.
