OUR CLIENT

Is a leading specialised medical product manufacturer and one of the fastest growing healthcare organisations in the UK. The company supply multiple products to more than 60 countries around the world including every NHS Trust.

THE CULTURE & WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The business operates on a fairly flat management structure enabling it to remain innovative, adaptive and close-knit. It’s an open planned office and the type of environment that encourages team effort. Every person’s contribution to the success of the business is highly valued so the most important attribute our client wants to evidence in a potential colleague, is someone who understand the value and importance of contributing well within this type of environment.

ROLE BRIEF

Working alongside the International Sales Manager you will have a specific focus on exports, account management and business development.  You will maintain and further strengthen working relationships with existing channel partners whilst demonstrating a natural aptitude for identifying and developing new partnerships with distributors around the globe.  A hands-on approach to your account management is key as you will eventually provide supervisory support to more junior colleagues enabling them to grow their markets and to secure new business.

Your duties will include the following:

  • Following extensive training on the company’s product portfolio you will introduce products and services to prospects, ensuring there is a continual pipeline in place
  • Manage a portfolio of existing distributors in the EMEA and SEA
  • Respond to and manage new distribution enquiries as agreed
  • Identify new potential markets and suitable distribution partners
  • Work to agreed annual business plans, including sales budget, marketing and where applicable develop training programmes for more junior team members
  • Review distributor activity to ensure that targets are being achieved
  • Monitor the market, understanding and communicating industry changes within areas of specialism
  • Work to agreed KPI’s and targets

THE CANDIDATE BRIEF

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within a shipping or export office and have a good understanding of the complexities of managing the sale of products or services to customers in other countries. You will therefore be familiar with the need to comply with, legal and ethical restrictions on international trading.

Ideally from a high-volume sales environment you will be someone naturally concerned and driven by delivering the highest standards of customer service. And, as an experienced international operator you will also have a proven track record of cultivating multiple accounts by adapting your approach to relationship building according to local and cultural standards.

This is a people centric business both internally and externally, so you will be assessed on you career to date, as well as your ability to engage in a highly collaborative manner with all stakeholders.  A 2nd language would help, but again is not a deal-breaker

TRAVEL

The company operates within the global market so you will be required to travel overseas with colleagues to meet distributors and clinicians. Primarily EMEA and emerging markets.

OUR IMPRESSION OF THE BUSINESS

  • Highly communicative
  • Friendly
  • Detail orientated
  • Believes in rewarding and recognising its people
  • Highly committed to its employees
