A leading payments company is recruiting for a Head of Bid Management / Senior Bid Manager to join them on a contract basis in the new year. You will be a commercial and bid specialist with extensive experience in the IT industry and the ability to provide strategic focus and direction

As Senior Bid Manager, you will review market sectors and provide strategic direction to ensure that the correct approach to Bid Management is adapted to meet changing requirements. You will also:
• Act as authority on Bid Management within the organisation
• Lead and manage Bid Teams and provide strategic direction
• Act as the champion of Bid Management and governance within the organisation and be an expert in the field
• Work with the Sales lead to develop the win strategy, shape the commercial solution and support the customer discussions in person
• Lead to ensure that the win strategy is understood / upheld. Margin and profitability targets are optimised

Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Essential
• Commercial and bid specialist with extensive experience in the IT industry and the ability to provide strategic focus and direction
• Strategic knowledge of bid management processes – internally and externally
• Knowledge, skills and experience to ensure that the organisation’s bid management strategy is fit for purpose and secures a key place in the market sector
• Ability to successfully deliver multiple complex bids in accordance with cost, schedule and quality
• Extensive experience of working across stakeholder networks
• Ability to lead and manage a virtual bid team
• Excellent key stakeholder management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with written presentation and report writing skills
• Extensive knowledge of the full bid process including qualification through to developing winning strategies
• A track record of providing support to business units, senior management, up to Executive level in relation to effective strategic bid management
• Evidence of the strong capability to develop and deploy excellent overarching strategies for the performance of bid teams, processes and tools
• Experience of managing co-located teams

Desirable
• Previous experience in financial sector
• Knowledge of the payments industry
