Sales Manager – Cable Management Systems     

Job Title: National Account Manager – Cable Management Systems   

Industry Sector: Cable Management, Trunking, Ladders, Basket Trays, Steel Channel, Fixings, Fastenings, Floor Boxes, Cable Trunking, End Users, Contractors, Wholesalers, M&E Contractors, Integrators, M&E

Area to be covered:  National Remit        Based: Commutable to Birmingham 

Remuneration: £30,000 - £36,000  + £14k OTE (Paid Quarterly)

The role of the National Account Manager – Cable Management Systems  will involve:

  • Selling a wide range of distributed products used in cable management such as steel channel, trunking, ladders, basket trays and associated products
  • Generating specifications from electrical consultants and end users
  • Also selling to contractors, wholesalers and integrators
  • Dealing with both Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients with order values ranging from £5k - £300k plus for large projects
  • Working towards a realistic first years new business target of around £300k plus
  • Achieving a profit margin of around 34% profit margin per project
  • Approximately 60% of your time will be spent generating new business relationships
  • Remaining 40% of your time will be spent managing and expanding existing Tier 1 relationships
  • Covering a territory which will incorporate the whole of the UK with the large majority of focus being on projects between Birmingham down to Milton Keynes with around 1 day per week in London

The ideal applicant will be National Account Manager – Cable Management Systems   with:

  • Must have a demonstrable track record in field based sales within the M&E market sector  
  • Demonstrable track record in sales of cable management product / systems such as: trunking, steel channel, cable ladders, basket trays, wire basket or related cable management products
  • Experience of selling to electrical consultants, end users and electrical wholesalers
  • Ideally some existing relationships to integrate into the business
  • Able to both manage and expand existing clients whilst generating fresh new business relationships
  • Comfortable working in both a fast paced ever changing industry and working environment
  • Flexible, autonomous, hungry and dynamic character
