Sales Manager – HVAC / Water Heaters 

Job Title: Regional Sales Manager – HVAC / Water Heaters

Industry Sector: HVAC, hot water solutions, continuous flow water heat systems, hot water systems, storage tank, water treatment, solar, solar thermal, gas water heaters, twin flow, heat pumps, heating radiators and water heaters

Area to be covered: South – ideally based near North & West London, Northern Home Counties, East Anglia, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and North Hampshire

Remuneration: £40,000 - £50,000 + £10,000-£15,000 Bonus

The role of the Regional Sales Manager – HVAC / Water Heaters will involve:

  • Field sales man management role responsible for a team of 4/5 field sales professionals promoting a manufactured and distributed range of gas water heaters, storage solutions, space heaters, gas fires and solar thermal systems
  • 75% sales focussed, covering either East or West of the above mentioned ideal location
  • Predominantly new business position, targeting commercial projects where a lot of water is consumed such as; schools, sports & leisure, hotels, care homes, food & beverage, restaurants, salons etc
  • Growing relationships within M&E contractors (approx. 20 in the East, 30 in the West of the area), plumbing & heating contractors / installers on patch and selling through specification to M&E consultants, local authorities and architects
  • Eastern area: currently achieving between £4,000-£10,000 per month (the aim is to grow this to £20,000-£25,000 per month)
  • Western area: more mature turning over circa £205,000, (achieving anywhere between £10,000-£50,000 per month) with a target of £300,00
  • Top down selling, breaking into the specification market by targeting end users, local authorities and M&E consultants before tracking projects through with the M&E and plumbing contractors and sub contractor / installers
  • Order values from £1,500 (e.g. one heater and flue in a launderette) up to £15,000 (for multiple heaters on a large site such as a University campus)
  • 25% Man management of an established, relatively self sufficient field sales team covering the South of the country
  • Responsible for strategy and recruiting one immediate field sales consultant to fill a vacant area
  • Typical sales management responsibilities include regional meetings every 2 weeks, ensuring KPI’s are achieved such as: budgets, sales leads, calls per day as well as motivating, mentoring and leading by example

The ideal applicant will be a Regional Sales Manager – HVAC / Water Heaters experience with:

·         Must have some experience of man management of a field sales team (could be new to team management)

·         Must have either field sales experience with M&E consultants, local authorities and architects, or field sales experience with  M&E contractors

·         Ideally knowledge of hot water circuits, gas flues +/or boilers

·         Knowledge of gas water heaters, storage solutions, space heaters, gas fires and solar thermal systems is not essential

·         Excellent leadership skills

·         Passion, enthusiasm

·         Ambitious, passionate and driven

·         Autonomous and technically astute

·         Ability to lead by example
