Sales Manager – Roofing / Waterproofing

Job Title: Technical Sales Manager – Roofing / Waterproofing

Industry Sector: Roofing, Roof Refurbishment, Liquid Waterproofing, Waterproofing Systems, Waterproof Membranes, Damp Proofing Membranes, Architects, Main Contractors, House builders

Area to be covered: South East & Anglia

Remuneration: £40,000 - £45,000 + Bonus

Benefits: Fully expensed Car & Full Benefits

The role of the Technical Sales Manager roofing & waterproofing systems will involve:

  • Selling a combination of waterproof roof coatings and liquid applied waterproofing systems onto exterior building envelope applications
  • 70% of your time will be spend working closely with main contractors
  • 20% working with architects to get the product specified
  • The remaining 10% of your time will be spent working with house builders
  • Working with typical order values of between £8k - £12k
  • 90% of your time will be generating new business leads and the remaining 10% will be managing existing accounts
  • Will be required to meet with Sales Director once a week at head office
  • Hitting negotiated target of circa 1m turnover per year

The ideal applicant will be a Technical Sales Manager – roofing & waterproofing systems with:

  • Must have waterproofing system industry experience, ideally flat roofing
  • Must have a technical understanding of waterproofing product components for example polyester, acrylic and vanishes.
  • Must have existing contacts with the roof waterproofing industry
  • Have some sort of field sales experience within the construction industry
  • Roofing contractor / main contractor relationships
  • Roofing knowledge and experience preferred
  • Specification sales experience within a technical building product
  • Ideally refurbishment construction industry experience
  • Strong self-motivation, with a self-starter attitude to new business
  • IT literate, with strong communicational skills
