An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic sales executive to join an established and well-renowned organisation to help expand sales across the North East.

Client Details

As an area sales manager you will be responsible for growing my clients accounts base. You will be responsible for growing the existing ledger account and bringing on new business.

My client has over 30,000 employees on six continents, with sales of over £10.6 billion.

Description

To win targeted new and competition business across all of my clients products, services and supply modes in the customer base spending between £0 - £5,000 per annum.

Profile

The successful sales manager will have:

  • To secure targeted new or competition business (100% of role)
  • Maintain up to date information relating to opportunities, successes and leads
  • To maximise new business wins for profit
  • Through internal networking, develop a thorough understanding of the targeted geographical areas and consequently self-generate leads to supplement targeted leads generated elsewhere
  • To engage in all promotional activity to increase the volume of sales at the right profitability
  • To ensure market intelligence is gathered and fed back into the wider organisation
  • Pass leads as appropriate back to other parts of the sales organisation

Sales skills:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the detailed product, competitor and customer knowledge required for success
  • Demonstrates essential listening skills and professional sales techniques
  • Demonstrates the importance of understanding margins and factors which affect the achievement of targets
  • Personal effectiveness
  • Good time management and organisation of visits to maximise face-to-face time with potential customers
  • Prioritisation of tasks to maximise financial returns
  • Good preparation to ensure meetings with potential customers are targeted and purposeful
  • Negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Confidence and conviction

Desired skills:

  • 1 to 2 years proven experience in a customer facing role
  • Proven ability to close deals
  • Welding or similar trade qualification preferable
