Sales Engineer – Commercial Boiler / Cylinders

Job Title: Sales Engineer – Commercial Boilers / Cylinders

Industry Sector: Mechanical and Engineering, Heating Exchange Products, Commercial Boilers, M&E, Mechanical, Contractors, Mechanical Consultants, Specification Sales, Mechanical Contractors.

Area to be covered: London & Home Counties

Remuneration: £45,000 - £50,000 + £5,000 - £10,000 Bonus

The role of the Sales Engineer – Commercial Boilers / Cylinders will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a range of commercial boilers and associated products such a cylinders, vessels and heat exchange units.
  • The focus will be on the London & Home Counties.
  • Majority if the time working closely with M&E Contractors and the rest of the time working with M&E Consultants.
  • Targeted to achieve revenue initially at £500,000, with a view to growing the region.
  • Experience dealing with project values between £25,000 – £50,000.
  • Working 100% in the field.
  • 70% of the time managing existing accounts and 30% generating new business.
  • Working in commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Working on projects such as universities, power stations and office blocks
  • Identify new projects from existing contractual partners.
  • Vacancy available due to growth and division of territory.


The ideal applicant will be a Sales Engineer – Commercial Boilers / Heating Products

  • Proven track record in selling to M&E contractors.
  • Technical engineering sales background with understanding of the UK commercial boiler product market.
  • The roles requires technically qualified individual with a national engineering diploma or equivalent. 
  • Experience within the industry is ideal.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with customers, installers and colleagues.
  • Capable of generating new business relationships.
  • Technically capable, tenacious.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to convey technically information.
  • Computer literate.
  • Efficient territorial planning skills.
  • Proven track record in this product/market sector.
