National Sales Manager - certification management systems
High Wycombe (x3 days office based, 2x days home based)
cGBP60,000 p.a basic, plus uncapped commission, company car, phone, laptop, Pension, Medical, 25 days holidays

A fantastic opportunity is available with a global company near High Wycombe. As a leader in their field, my client is expanding their sales team, and are looking for an experienced UK Sales Manager for the certification sector. You will be able to work from home a few days per week, however travel into High Wycombe is required. You will be responsible for growing your sales team and taking full ownership of the sales target, whilst developing a plan to exceed annual sales targets. Leading and managing your team is essential (x8 currently), so you will be providing training and coaching to encourage them to achieve and celebrate every little win !
To be successful in this role, you must be a hunter and a true new business sales person, with a proven track record of generating new business for at least 3 years. You must be able to provide facts and figures upon request. If you have any experience in certification, regulatory or compliance environments in a B2B sales management role, then we want to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the sector sales target, delivering sector sales against target
  • Each year, develop and implement a plan to exceed the annual sales target, which is updated quarterly
  • Lead and manage the sector sales team, currently at 8 colleagues, providing clear expectations and guidance, encouraging cross selling, celebrating success and sharing best practice to ensure that performance targets are met
  • Take personal responsibility for key accounts and large tenders
  • Ensure that the companys End-to-End Sales Standard Operating Procedure is consistently applied across the sector
  • Manage and review the sales performance for Tier A, B and C accounts, working with the relevant sales channels as needed to deliver sales and margin targets
  • Manage delivery of the sector sales forecast and provide a monthly update on the sales funnel and key account plans for the Exec Team
  • Actively manage the sales process: prospect identification; needs analysis; presentation; define solution; proposal; negotiation; close; follow up & obtain referrals
  • Ensure all aspects of individuals careers are being catered for in line with company policy - e.g. setting of non-sales related objectives, career planning, training and mentoring; careers of all Sales staff in the team are being actively and professionally
  • Provide appropriate feedback into the annual budget process through a defined sales and marketing plan for the following budget period

Your skills and what we are looking for:

  • Sector or industry experience in Certification Management systems highly desirable
  • Proven Sales Acumen and customer management in order to:
    • Provide leadership within the sales process
    • Take ownership for key/strategic account management and large/complex tenders
    • Demonstrate sound knowledge and experience of pricing
  • Strong people management skills in order to:
    • Be able to lead a team including diverse people with a wide range of ability and expertise
    • Develop and coach individuals to improve performance instigating performance improvement initiatives where needed
  • Proactive, decisive and a quick learner



This role is varied and challenging, fast paced and target driven and requires the right individual to be able to demonstrate previous examples of similar success. Youll need to demonstrate good diplomacy skills as a team leader, be approachable to staff, with the ability to implement and manage clear direction to the team at the same time as inspiring and motivating the inside sale team through the balance of maintaining good relationships.
