The Role: The successful National Business Development Manager will focus their sales efforts on developing new relationships within the high street, grocery, electrical, travel and discount sectors, as well as inherit a small portfolio of existing accounts. You will be selling our full range of disposable and rechargeable batteries and related products, speaking to head office buyers with the aim of gaining new listings. This role stands out as you will be building brand awareness and working closely with the Managing Director and marketing team to develop new opportunities for existing and extended product ranges. GP are a challenger brand in the UK and with that comes lots of opportunity to grow the business.

The Company: Established for over fifty years and holding a strong global market share, GP Batteries are an international manufacturer now focusing more heavily on their operation and branded market share in the UK. GP Batteries have a strong presence in Europe and the Far East and hold some exciting licenses to support their brand. As well as receiving a comprehensive benefits package, the National Business Development Manager will take an active part in the group's international conferences which will involve travel to the company's base in Hong Kong and European destinations.

For this National Business Development Manager position, we are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Proven track record of successfully targeting national retail chains at head office buyer level
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and strong business acumen
  • Experience of opening and developing new accounts in the high street, grocery, electrical, travel or discount sectors
  • Ideally come from a non-food sales background
  • Upbeat, tenacious and resilient
