Key Account Manager – Retail & Distribution

Job Title: Key Account Manager – Retail & Distribution

Industry Sector: Specialist tile distributors, tile fixers, main contractors, building contractors, tile distributors and independent retail tile showroom.

Area to be covered: National – based Midlands

Remuneration: £40,000-£45,000 + up to 25% bonus

Benefits: Fully expensed car & full benefits

The role of the Key Account Manager – Retail & Distribution will involve:

  • Field sales position, promoting a market-leading manufactured and distributed range of tile adhesives, grouts, fillers, smoothers, levellers, silicone and sealants
  • Responsibility for a national tile retailer / tile distributor
  • 100% account management position
  • Putting tile retailer / tile distributor staff through our clients training course / training days
  • Visiting head office of national account quarterly
  • Visiting branches of national account on a regular basis
  • Working with branch managers up to the CEO of the national account
  • Revenue responsibility for circa £12m
  • Area currently has circa 380 branches, but our client is looking to grow this number
  • Accurately presenting budgets and forecasts
  • Reporting on market changes and competitor activity

 

The ideal applicant will be a Key Account Manager – Retail & Distribution with:

  • Dynamic, high energy field sales professionals from the building trade
  • Proven key account management field sales experience
  • Ideally understands how to sell through retail & distribution
  • Adaptability to work at multiple levels from CEO down to branch managers
  • Credible
  • Self motivated, driven and understands value added selling, quality / performance over price
  • Tile associated industry field sales experience is not required, our client is open to other building products such as: floors, screeds, concrete, KBB, kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, general construction etc
  • Structured and analytical approach to field sales territory planning, ideally structured sales training (understands GAP analysis, journey planning etc)
