They aim to accelerate growth across industry and across the globe - and are currently hiring for a Head of Sales - Events.
The business are recruiting for a Head of Sales - Events to lead their delegate and conference function. As part of the senior management team, you will shape the business' strategy and play a pivotal role in the managing of a well-performing Inside New Business team (typically 25-30 business developers, with three middle-managers). The business function has eclipsed targets over the past 3 years, and has the capacity to increase in size as well as benefit from ongoing product development. You will be accountable for the overall team budget (circa £11 million), ongoing development of staff, and regular 1-2-1/mentoring activities.

The Head of Sales - Events will have commercial acumen, credibility and gravitas as well as drive to make business and process improvement where necessary. You will have managed successful inside teams previously of similar headcount - ideally in events, media, or business services sectors (although this is desirable). The nature of this is high activity, lower average-order-value, selling into a variety of industries.
You will be process driven and have a strong grasp for strategy and implementation of methodologies (i.e. KPIs, business development activities, account management and development, lead generation, product development etc.).
You will be an inspiring trainer, coach and role model for the team and other staff as we grow talent. The current team has a number of high potential individuals who should progress into more senior roles. The goal is to build a high performing team and a structure that will enable further growth in the future.
