Head of Procurement –With a Difference

Salary to £72,000 + bonus + car + benefits

Office based near West London

The Company:

We are a UK multinational Health & Beauty business with turnover measured in £billions. We have entered a period of exciting growth in terms of profit, volume and corporate developments. This has resulted in a need to strengthen our Procurement - Buying Team. Reporting to the General Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage the team, through developing and activating a commercial strategy. With true leadership, capability development and a strong commercial focus you will develop and maintain our organisation at a world class level. This is a highly commercial role where success is judged by  your teams margin contribution

The Role:

 

  • Act as the lead contact for all suppliers  
  • An ability to recognise when good relationships are not the same as procurement success 
  • Own and develop the Joint Business Plan strategy  
  • Own and develop the supplier segmentation and relationship strategy  
  • Ensure commercial team are working with designated suppliers to improve the service for all internal functions 
  • Joint Business Plan implementation to optimise profitability and market share  
  • Achieve total targets for monthly Gate fee income
  • Above all play an active role in the wider business in UK senior team meetings and strategy workshops, forging close relationships with other senior team members that benefit business objectives

 

You:

 

  • Proven leadership experience of large teams of 7-10, with evidence of developing others
  • Proven customer focus, able to build and sustain long term relationships, always seeking to understand and meet customer needs
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret data to inform business decisions
  • Proven communication and influencing skills, up to Board level exposure
  • Proven planning and organisation skills to achieve business deadlines and targets
  • Embraces change, always looking for ways of improving business performance
