General Sales Manager  

Job Type:      Permanent / Full Time

Salary:          c£55-60k per annum + incentives

Our client, the UK’s largest manufacturer and converter of flexible and permanent magnetic materials, is looking to accelerate current sales growth with the appointment of a General Sales Manager. They are a leader in the provision of magnetic materials and add value through design, manufacture and engineering at their Sheffield site. Founded in 1984 their specialist knowledge and industry leading technical expertise is supporting retailers, printers and users of magnetic materials in the UK and Europe. As an ISO accredited company for both design and manufacture their processes ensure a consistently high quality of product and service. To drive forward change and planned growth they require an outstanding individual to become a key member of their management team to be based at their facility in Sheffield.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will be responsible for:-

  • influencing, implementing and delivering the sales strategy 
  • leading, building, mentoring and developing a customer focused, proactive telesales team. 
  • the management and performance of the sales team and, working closely with the business development team, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the company; 
  • agreeing and implementing relevant KPIs. 
  • additionally, you will develop a new ERP system to maximise sales potential, ensure retention of existing business, identify and win new customers and develop new products and markets
  • supporting and mentoring your team is a key element of this role, resulting in a customer focused proactive sales team.

To be shortlisted for this role you must have at least 4 years’ experience in sales management at a senior level with a proven track record of delivering profitable sales growth. Experience of managing people is a must and we will need to see evidence of strategic planning, tracking and measuring performance and experience of selling products in a B2B/manufacturing environment. International sales experience, a foreign language and/or industry knowledge would be advantageous, as would an understanding of sales contracts and an ability to identify opportunities for the use of new products and applications. To be successful in the role you will need to be a motivational leader, confident and enthusiastic, with a customer focused approach. We are looking for a positive, energetic team player who is passionate about sales alongside providing high quality customer service.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join an Industry leading growing company.
