Part of the BSW Timber Group – the UK’s largest saw milling company – BSW Energy is a rapidly developing business and an increasingly recognisable brand, manufacturing a range of renewable wood fuel products for domestic and trade markets from two sites in Scotland and Suffolk.

As a Field Sales Manager, you’ll be part of a small, yet growing team and have every opportunity to quickly progress. Reporting to the Head of Sales and responsible for a clearly defined geographical territory, your role will focus on new business development and growing profitable sales of BSW Energy products, with an emphasis on volume, value and margin.

Specifically, this will involve:

  • Targeting independent retailers, including Stove Retailers, Garden Centres, Farm Shops, Solid Fuel Merchants, Petrol Station Forecourts, Pubs, Restaurants, Camping and Caravan Parks and local DIY outlets

  • Creating a daily plan to prioritise calls and clustering your accounts to ensure the most effective use of time and travel, as well as completing relevant and timely visit reports

  • Generating solid leads and building strong business relationships, with direct responsibility for meeting and exceeding challenging annual performance targets

Ideally, we’re looking for a talented sales professional with a non-food FMCG background and preferably some experience the Stove/Garden Centre arena, although those with a strong track record in B2B sales from other sectors are also encouraged to apply. Either way, we also expect you to:

  • Have an enthusiastic and positive outlook, along with a can-do attitude and a genuine passion to grow and develop the brand

  • Be an excellent communicator and relationship builder, with a results oriented approach and a clear ability to capitalise on any potential new business opportunity

  • Demonstrate high levels of self-motivation, be target driven and willing to travel extensively, with the possibility of some overnight stays
