In this role you will be working, exclusively, with some of this companies existing and well-established clients.

This company already has excellent working relationships with these clients and wants to find an experienced Business Development Manager to deepen these relationships by selling additional services. You would work with clients, directly, to fully develop their businesses, through the use of this companies fantastic software and services. As a result, this is not a new 'business development' role. It's focused on working with existing clients and growing those accounts

The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running, developing an understand the breadth of the companies solutions and the industry they work in. The role involves a complex software sell. where personal relationships, credibility and delivery are key.

What skills will you need to apply for this role

You must be an experienced Business Development Manager, who thrives in developing relationships with existing clients and takes a proactive approach to growing client accounts.

You will ideally be in the software arena already, dealing with leading edge tech and complex sales. If you are selling Software as a Service, then this would ideal.

You will be credible, honest, reliable and someone who quickly builds lasting business relationships built around knowledge, expertise and a track record of delivery.

You will be able to demonstrate that you are self-managing, driven and a developer of sales pipelines, with a structured and organised process for planning your sales strategy.

You will be a well-established deal maker, with gravitas, who is strong in front of clients. You'll already be regularly pitching to established clients, creating proposals and driving projects towards contract signature and implementation. So, you'll need to be technical and financially savvy.

Candidates who also have a Utilities industry background would be ideal, but it's not essential.

Other useful stuff to know

- The company is based in Nottingham, with UK based clients, but are flexible on the office/home/client visit mix in the typical working week. That said, you will need to spend time in the Nottingham office, so the commute and or travel time for that regular trip needs to be do-able.
- The base salary for this role is as quoted, plus there will be a substantial commission-based element on top of that.
