An established commercial furniture supplier within the retail and hospitality industry is launching a new product range aimed at the commercial office market.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven new business hunter to develop and grow a new market with a niche offering.

Client Details

Our client is an established furniture supplier based along the M4 corridor. A very stable company with ambitious plans over the next few years to create and develop there products as an offering within the commercial fit out market covering the whole of the UK. With plans to create a showroom in the Clerkenwell area our client is making a serious statement by signing off this piece of recruitment.

Description

The role

Reporting to the Sales Director the key accountabilities for the Business Development Manager will include:

  • Working with the Sales Director to refine and develop the Sales Strategy to ensure achievement of the Company Growth Plan

  • Targeting and acquisition of New Business Accounts

  • Protect and grow existing Key Accounts

  • Provide leadership in the implementation of Account Planning strategies

  • Following independent sales achievement, be accountable for successful recruitment of additional sales resource including external and internal sales personnel
  • Identify training needs of a growing sales team and implement training development plans

Profile

The successful candidate will ideally have/be

  • A proven sales professional within the commercial furniture sector who is able to target and acquire new business and undertake key account management responsibilities

  • Proven track record of sales leadership achievements

  • Excellence in building relationships with internal stakeholders

  • Experience of developing growth through sales channels, agents and partners

  • Manage the sales process from receipt of enquiry, qualifying opportunity quality and customer requirements through to closing the deal

  • Proven active account management record with evidence of increasing key account revenues

  • Proven understanding of the commercial fit out, furniture wholesaler, specification and D&B market

  • Proven relationships with In-house designers, architects

  • Used to providing a value-added sales approach

  • Comfortable with nationwide travel where necessary

  • Be a great sales coach and mentor

  • Live within easy commute of Head Office
