Join this expanding logistics business with over 350 in the UK sales team, my client are looking for someone who is experienced in the logistics sector and want to further develop their career.

My client is a rapidly expanding logistics company who are part of a highly successful well-known global brand, who handle over 50,000 consignments each month across all of their 11 UK locations. They now trade as the UK Land division working in partnership with Air/ Ocean, Contract Logistics and Multi Modal/ Rail divisions.They have a reputation globally as being a reliable and efficient business.

Description

The role is highly autonomous, as the successful Business Development Manager you will enjoy the thrill of identifying new business and developing these to help grow the overall turnover of the business.The business development manager's remit will be help increase market share across a given territory with new opportunities as well as maintaining the current accounts as a secondary.

The Business Development Manager's portfolio will consist of key clients within your region and a key purpose of the role is to objectively review the current range of services provided and determine whether there is an opportunity to further develop the business by providing additional products and/or services which meet the client's needs.

Profile

You will have;

  • A sound understanding of the British and European Road Freight industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal colleagues to ensure the highest level of customer service is delivered across the business.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to manage margins and deliver profitable business.
  • A level of appropriate tenacity with an understanding that 'a customer hates to be sold to, but loves to buy'
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A self-starter who can operate with a minimum level of supervision
  • A level of creativity which can generate commercially viable solutions to the challenges presented by clients.

Job Offer

Competitive Package + Bonus-For achievement of 100% of targets - 25% of base salary, with the opportunity to achieve 37.5% of base salary for 50% above target performance.
