Business Development Manager, Birmingham £30,000 - £35,000 pa

The organisation deliver employment, vocational rehabilitation assessments, health intervention and community care services. Helping people return to work in a multitude of situations, this organisation works with government funded projects, to create work based placement opportunities within local communities; both Nationally and Globally.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Manager, this role will take ownership for securing new business for the organisation; proactively creating, identifying, developing and converting opportunities. As part of this role you will be required to handle sales tender processes and new propositions, often in line with government bids and funding requirements. The right candidate will contribute to the successful delivery of the business plan and develop relationships, knowledge and leads to create profitable and sustainable new business. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, support in the production of tenders and proposals, and be focussed on converting opportunities. It is an extremely varied role, requiring high levels of activity and a passion for making a difference to people, places and business.

What you'll need to succeed

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced Business Development professional with a drive to help people and work for a rewarding organisation. You will be an adept communicator with the ability to influence, persuade and listen to others effectively. Strong networking skills and commercial acumen will be advantageous within this role. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of bids and tender processes and some interaction with government funding or welfare to work schemes. Your credible knowledge of sales and bids, will highlight your strategic thinking and experience of working across multiple service and product streams.
You will be required to work to KPI's and targets, and thrive in a results driven environment. It will be advantageous to have previous experience of outsourcing, government and public services. Experience in education, training, recruitment, health, and/or justice sectors is desirable.

The role will include National travel and a full UK driving license will be essential to be considered for this opportunity.
