Business Development Manager £50,000 Basic Double OTE  Home/Field based

Our client is is an innovative, ‘end to end’ partner for digital asset production, point of sale marketing solutions and creative innovation. Leading the way with Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, CGI as well as traditional digital production, we are a fast growing successful startup

Our Client is looking for an Agency and New Business Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with proven agency and direct sales experience in creative production, who is looking to take the next step up in terms of remit and earning potential.

The key job function is to deliver the sales strategy through existing and new business, and through establishing partnerships with Distributors and Media Agencies.

As part of this role - you will have unrestricted access to an existing client base of HOT big brand leads that our client already services elsewhere.

THE ROLE

You will be someone with a desire to join a fast growing company where you can make a tangible and lasting difference. The ideal candidate will have experience in selling to media agencies, prospecting for new clients, cold calling, brand advertising, response advertising and using other means to generate interest with potential clients.

You will have knowledge of the digital creation and advertising market and willingness to gain a solid understanding of our product offering as well as that of our competitors. Developing and maintaining a good rapport with clients is critical to ensure recurring business. You will have drive, tenacity, a consultative sales approach and proven ability to close deals with agencies and B2B

Our client seeks a self-starting “entrepreneurial” professional, capable of establishing a solid base of sales operation. We expect you to bring technical sales experience for selling creative services across multiple sectors. You will communicate and troubleshoot at all levels and liaise with clients advising them on the creative solutions to achieve their needs. Essentially, you will drive development activity across the accounts and immerse yourself in the creative world – pushing the boundaries and integrating innovation to achieve commercial potential for clients.

You will work closely with the Creative Director and the Managing Director to drive new business across target organisations from a digital strategy, creative, design and production perspective. We are a “network and relationship” based business and aspire to be Partners, rather than suppliers, with our clients, as such we open the brief and create bespoke solutions to achieve their target strategies.

The successful candidate will come from a creative sales background, possess strong experience in building client relationships and developing new accounts and have an enviable network of industry contacts.

Reporting to the Managing Director your main duties will include:

  • To meet pre-agreed revenue targets through proactively seeking out new business through, existing network development, cold calling, active face to face meetings, as well as through marketing leads.
  • To manage and maintain a pipeline of pitches and opportunities and accurately forecast revenue potential.
  • To proactively develop new business opportunities with clients through research, networking and representing the agency externally at relevant events.
  • To develop relationships with key senior client-side contacts, providing a consultative approach, understanding and reacting to their commercial and communications objectives with relevant proposals.
  • To work proactively with the creative team, project management team and technical teams to develop campaigns to meet client’s needs and objectives.
  • Conducting research on different sales opportunities including (but not limited to) agencies, corporations, brands, online retailers, SMEs, etc.
  • Collaborating with delivery teams throughout the organization to assemble scopes of work for proposals and preparation of full proposals and quotations for projects.
  • Preparing materials (presentations, outlines, proposals) in Keynote, PowerPoint, Pages, Word and more (for internal and pitch meetings).
  • Managing a database of prospects and clients in a Customer Relationship Management System.
  • Commercial development of existing client business.
  • Be actively involved in the creative process from brief to implementation.
  • Client contact including attending meetings, maintaining client relations and identifying new areas of opportunity.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of successful business development or digital sales in an agency environment. Direct sales to digital agency experience is a requirement.
  • Demonstrable commercial experience of growing revenues and forecasting revenue potential
  • Proven experience of influencing at a senior level and of developing excellent working relationships
  • Proven experience of identifying and responding to pitches, potential tenders and requests for proposals
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of digital marketing including digital creative, design and build
  • Good understanding of technical and also creative ideas-led approach
  • Client facing, with the ability to translate complex client requirements into realistic and achievable deliverables for the creative and technical team to execute on.
  • Commercial flair and ability to close business achieving sales targets.

SKILLS

  • Excellent and authentic presentation, communication and negotiation skills, with experience of liaising with clients at a senior level
  • Consultative Sales approach
  • Ability to move effectively between strategy and implementation
  • A natural ability to close sales via own generated leads and supplied leads.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience in proposal creation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a creative, proactive and analytical approach.

SALARY PACKAGE
