Business Development Manager covering the Lancashire area.

We are a forward thinking, family owned company based in Leyland. We sell cleaning, janitorial, nursing & PPE products etc. to industry, hotels & restaurants, care homes and on EBay & Amazon.

You will play a key role in all stages of the sales process, including initial prospecting, appointment making and customer presentation, through to ultimately closing the deal, so the efficient planning and management of the territory is as crucial as your work ethic, drive and enthusiasm. Your key responsibility is the growth of the sales region, the area already hosts an existing client portfolio but ultimately the success of the role hinges on 80% account management of the existing customer base and 20% new business development.

Offering a consultative approach, and working across all levels of your customers business, you will develop a thorough understanding of each prospects need and their operations, looking for the opportunity to provide additional value and develop further business.

Whilst the role will be based in Leyland and the North West, you may be expected to spend time each day in the office. You will work closely with the office team on marketing and promotional strategies.

The Ideal Applicant:

An outgoing and positive attitude

Business to Business (B2B) sales would be an advantage

The ability to persuade and influence others

Strong motivational and target focus

Excellent organisational skills

Good administrative and IT skills

Product knowledge can be taught

Customer focussed and personable character with excellent relationship building skills

Comfortable dealing with company owners, commercial managers and purchase managers

A team player attitude.

Full valid Uk Driving Licence

Over 25 for insurance purposes

More importantly you will have the drive and enthusiasm to excel in a sales environment and the vision to achieve personal success and develop your role as the company expands.

Ongoing product training will be provided in house and at the manufacturers

Package dependent upon experience

Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5pm (although 8.30 – 3pm may be considered for the right candidate).
