Our leading software licensing, security and managed services technology client is hiring multiple business development executives due to rapid client growth. This is an internal role identifying and leveraging new business opportunities to enable the effective selling of their software solutions. This will be either through personally closing the business (small deals) or by supporting the Major Accounts team in accordance with defined sales processes.

Your role will include:

  • Generates, nurtures and qualifies leads to create sales opportunities.
  • Leverages marketing activity with calls and emails to drive prospects to trade shows, events, webinars and other content, with persistent follow up post event to nurture and qualify leads.
  • Grows existing accounts and prospective clients to full potential and generates maximum revenue on a long-term basis.
  • Generates and develops margin based business in line with corporate go to market strategies with existing and new clients to meet specified sales goals.
  • Understands and is able to articulate prospective clients' culture, product portfolio, competitive position, financial state, investment plan, organization structure and key decision makers.
  • Maintains and develops client relations for new as well as existing clients, ensuring all existing clients are contacted regularly to ensure customer satisfaction within assigned territory.
  • Develops customer relations including, but not limited to sales leads, research, warm calls, qualifying leads, developing leads, and customer service.
  • Attends conventions, conferences, and trade shows as needed; prepares post-event reports and analysis.
  • Analyses existing and anticipated client needs and promotes company services to meet such requirements.
  • Manages the preparation and implementation of targeted business development campaigns.
  • Formulates the overall objectives and strategy to develop a high-value relationship within all areas.


Critical to the success of this role you will have:

  • Previous experience successfully selling a service on the telephone or relevant B2B sales experience in a complex environment or graduate with a high aptitude for sales (applies to salaried between £20,000 and £35,000).
  • For more senior positions a proven track record in software sales is essential (£35,000 to £50,000)
  • Must be a creative, innovative and flexible team player - coordination with the sales team and marketing group is critical to success - but must be driven to be held accountable for own results.
  • Must be tenacious, persuasive, results and success-oriented, a self-starter with high energy and the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to grasp technology solutions, to effectively market a variety of products and solutions and the ability to consultatively "solution sell" rather than a F&B sale.
  • Demonstrated ability to make successful in person and virtual presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means with a variety of individuals and groups at all organisational levels.
  • Resilience, versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

Job Offer

Salaries from £20,000 to £50,000 with uncapped double OTE plus benefits.
