JOB PROFILE – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TELEPHONE SALES

Position overview:

Business Development Telephone Sales

Location:

Office based

Hours of business:

The working hours are typically 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Salary:

£17,500 basic + incentive  

Benefits:

25 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays

Founded in 1922, this manufacturing company is a one-stop-shop for all print, print finishing, plastic cards and key fob requirements.   Mainly trade customers B2B, print management, printers creative and design agencies and 90% of public libraries throughout the UK.

Spectrum have a great capacity of finding solutions to product ideas with specialist equipment for prototype samples to take to board.

We work closely with our customers to provide exactly what is needed on time with guaranteed delivery dates.

With extensive experience and knowledge we pride ourselves on excellent customer relationships and service.

With our continued investment we are ideally positioned as a leading supplier within our industry.

Our office and factory is based in Stockport and employs 20 staff.

Our Purpose

To supply our customers with quality products and the confidence they can rely on our service to deliver exactly what is expected.

Your Purpose

You will be responsible for generating new business with both new customers and existing customers.  Working to Sales Targets.  You will spend much of your time on outbound calls, proactively and tenaciously generating leads and conversion.  With the expectation of a sales career path to include face to face visits networking and exhibitions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Interacting with decision makers
- You will be expected to meet sales targets and will be regularly monitored
- Follow-up cold and warm leads; a new business mentality is required

Requirements:

- Previous sales experience (Over 1-2 years’ experience preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
- Ability to sell using a consultative style
- Ability to close the sale
- Self-motivated, reliable, resilient, driven and results orientated
- Keen to work within a close-knit team

You will be an excellent communicator and possess an articulate and professional telephone manner suited to our client varied customer base.

Targets

  • To achieve agreed sales targets

  • Number of agreed calls per day for new, dormant and existing accounts by phone, email and letters

  • Number of agreed new customers per month and new products to existing customers

  • Use of PDF, printed brochures and samples

  • Being up to date each morning on target position, daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly, for reporting

Phone

  • Mainly outbound, with some incoming

  • Agreed number of calls per day

To Manage and maximise potential and existing customer accounts

  • Building relationships throughout the organisation, maintaining regular contact.

  • Developing new contacts within existing customer organisations

  • Introducing alternative and new product solutions

  • Gathering competitive information

  • Gaining testimonials for publication

Prepare and convert quotes

  • Identifying opportunities to provide quotes

  • Action and acknowledge all enquiries for information or quotes received by email, fax or letter.

  • Ensuring the quotes are accurate and meet the requirements of the customer

  • Follow up on all quotes using the CRM system

Maintain Accurate contact information and develop customer profile

  • Keeping CRM contracts/accounts up to date

  • Reducing lapse customer time period

  • Recording daily statistics, number of calls to potential new customers, number of calls to existing customers, number of calls to new contacts in existing customers

  • Recording information in a timely manner using company process for easy access by all members of staff

To maintain customer satisfaction for all jobs on order

  • By attaching all your communications to the CRM system, including emails and telephone call information

  • Once orders have been won pass all relevant details to the administration team for processing
