Some sound advice. I have recently been following a blog series on improving your CV, which I think is also extremely useful (although perhaps more general and not so sales focused). This is the link for those who are interested: http://blog.gradfutures.com/the-gradfutures-blog/tag/jazz-up-your-cv

I love the 80/20 Principle - and use it in my personal life just as much i.e. I try and spend 80% of my time with those I admire the most.

PLEASE send this blog post out to all those damn companies that you speak to once about something very minor - and all of a sudden you start getting emails blasted at you every week.

I use social networking tools a lot and agree - QUALITY OVER QUANTITY is essential. If anyone in sales and marketing is thinking about keeping in touch with their client base with these tools, please take heed.

That said, used correctly, they can be great tools for both sales and the clients. I love receiving short informative HTML rich email newsletters, tweets and RSS feeds from companies that I like to follow.

Great post!

Professional Sales at the end of the day is a game. And with any game, success often comes down to 20% mechanics and 80% psychology i.e. it's all about attitude.

Why am i not surprised. Mandelson and his government has just given away a bucket load of British jobs to the yanks. Since labour has been in power they have manage to dismantle the “Great” out of “ Britain” and forced it into “another” part of Europe. Well done boys girls and those who are in-between!
