Sales vacancies strong despite economic downturn
While the current economic gloom may have seen unemployment rise in the UK, research from Simplysalesjobs.co.uk has provided some good news for those looking for a new sales position.
The number of available Simplysalesjobs.co.uk vacancies in the UK has grown over the past year. Scotland has shown the highest growth where there has been a 156% increase in the number of Simplysalesjobs.co.uk vacancies.
According to Simplysalesjobs.co.uk, annual sales salaries in the North-East have been boosted by 24% – the highest increase in the country. However, sales staff in London are still paid the most – with vacancies being advertised at £38,234 pa on average.
Salary expectations vary depending on which sector you work in. The highest expected salaries could be found in the electronics industry where they are on average around £50,000 per year.
Advertised salaries in IT and telecoms sales were also strong averaging at about £41,000 per year with call centre sales salaries averaging at £17,000 per year.
It does pay to move up the organisational chart, with average advertised salaries being:
- £77,000 pa for sales directors
- £39,000 pa for sales mangers
- £16,000 pa for sales assistants
