- Telesales jobs can be stressful and very fast paced and those working telesales spend the entire day making external calls to people and based on a script will try to persuade them to buy a product or service, receive a visit from a sales rep, fill out a survey and should a sale be successful, process the order and delivery details.
- Those people who are good at call centre jobs are confident, have good interpersonal and communicative skills, are persuasive, motivated and most importantly are resilient. Those working in telesales will generally work a 37.5 hour week, although due to the nature of call centre jobs, this can be in shift work.
- Telesales jobs require good telephone skills, a good level of spelling, data entry and computer literacy. Some call centre jobs may require a test in these areas before you are accepted. Although call centre jobs are available in all major towns and cities around the country, the South East of England seems to be a hotspot to telesales jobs.
- Those with telesales jobs will earn anywhere between £12k and £13k pa as a basic salary but can make considerably more with commission. Manager call centre jobs can earn in the region of £20k pa.
